General
What does the price depend on?
The price depends on the place: the number and type of devices to be installed, cable distances and the condition of the existing wiring, the size of the building, and system features such as monitoring from your phone. For an exact price, we inspect the place on site and prepare a written quote. For camera systems, you can see storage and viewing distance in advance with our calculators.
Is there a warranty and support after installation?
The devices we install are covered by the manufacturer’s warranty; the warranty period and coverage are stated per device in the quote. During installation, we show you how to use the system, and you can also contact us for maintenance, repairs and remote support.
How does working with Desa Bilişim work?
First, we listen to you: we talk about your needs, your building and your budget. Then we inspect the place on site and decide together on the right system for you. Our expert team completes the installation in an orderly way, shows you how to use the system, and stays by your side afterwards.
Which areas do you serve?
Our base is in Şanlıurfa: our office is in Karaköprü, at Doğukent, Akşemsettin Bulvarı No: 4/6A. Besides every district of Şanlıurfa, we do installation and maintenance in Gaziantep, Adıyaman, Diyarbakır, Mardin, Batman, Siirt, Şırnak and Kilis, that is, in all the provinces of Southeast Anatolia. On large projects we have also worked in other provinces of Türkiye (Konya, Hatay, Istanbul, Kütahya, Ordu). When you request a quote, just choose the project's province; we plan the site survey day together.
What are your working hours?
We work weekdays 08:00–17:00 and Saturdays 08:00–14:00; we are closed on Sundays. During these hours, you can reach us at 0 (414) 312 33 72 or 0 (850) 346 20 14.
Do you maintain and upgrade existing systems installed by another company?
Yes. We check the condition of existing camera, alarm, fire, network and other low-voltage installations. It is often possible to keep the parts that work and replace only what’s needed. Tell us the brand of the system and the problem you’re having, and we’ll guide you.
Which brands do you use?
We work with Dahua and Pelco for security cameras, Cede Codesec for fire and security systems, ZKSoftware for access control, Nice for barriers and gates, and Westa and Topp Pro for PA and announcement systems. In every project, we choose based on the space and the need.
What should I do to get a price quote?
You can call us at 0 (414) 312 33 72 or 0 (850) 346 20 14, or fill in the contact form on our website. Just tell us about your space, your needs and your plan if you have one. For an accurate quote, we need to see the space in person for most projects.
Do you work on projects for schools and public institutions?
Yes. To date, we have installed systems such as cameras, fire alarms, bells and PA, and network in more than 85 educational institutions and more than 5600 public buildings and facilities. Participation in tenders and the conditions vary with each tender; if you share the tender documents with us, we will review them together.
How is the privacy of camera recordings protected?
Camera recordings count as personal data under Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data (Turkish Personal Data Protection Law). The basic steps are limiting access to recordings to authorized people, using strong passwords, not keeping recordings longer than necessary, and posting notices in areas with cameras. We recommend consulting an expert about your legal obligations and planning these steps together during installation.
How many cameras does a school need?
The number depends on the school’s size, number of entrances, yard and corridors. Main entrances, yard gates, corridors, stairs, the canteen and the perimeter wall are usually considered together. Cameras are not placed in private areas such as toilets, changing rooms and the counseling room. It would not be right to give an exact number without seeing your school; let’s work out your plan together.
How many days are camera recordings kept?
Retention depends on the recorder’s disk capacity, the number of cameras, the resolution, and whether recording is continuous or only on motion. First we talk about how far back you want recordings, then choose the disk to match. For personal data protection, it is also right not to keep recordings longer than needed and to limit access.
Can I watch my security cameras from my phone?
Yes. When IP cameras and recorders are connected to the internet, you can watch the live view and past recordings on your phone with the manufacturer’s app. During installation we set up the app on your phone with you and show you how to use it. We also recommend setting a strong password for access.
How clearly does a night vision camera see in the dark?
Night vision cameras use infrared light to capture images in the dark too; the viewing distance depends on the camera model. For a clear image, it is important to mount the camera at the right height and angle, with no reflective surface in front of it. Some models can also give a color image in low light.
Do outdoor cameras break down in the Şanlıurfa heat?
Cameras made for outdoor use have a specified operating temperature range and a dust and water protection rating (such as IP66 or IP67). Choosing a model that meets these ratings with the summer heat and dust in mind, and placing the camera out of direct sunlight where possible, extends its life. Cleaning the lenses from time to time also keeps the image clear.
Do I have to remove everything to upgrade my old camera system?
Not always. We check the condition of the existing cabling, recorder and cameras; it is often possible to keep the parts that still work and replace only what is needed. We work with brands such as Dahua and Pelco, and we also plan for the system to grow in the future.
Is a fire alarm system mandatory?
The Regulation on the Fire Protection of Buildings sets which detection and warning system each building must have. This depends on the building’s use, size and number of floors. We assess your building against the regulation with you and design the system to match.
What is the difference between addressable and conventional fire alarms?
In a conventional system, detectors are grouped into zones; when an alarm comes in, you see which zone it came from. In an addressable system, each detector has its own address and the panel shows exactly which device triggered the alarm. In large, multi-story buildings an addressable system makes response easier; in small buildings a conventional system is often enough.
Should I choose a smoke detector or a heat detector?
Smoke detectors usually detect a fire earlier and are widely used in rooms, corridors and offices. In places where smoke or steam could cause false alarms, such as kitchens, boiler rooms or dusty areas, a heat detector is more suitable. In areas where natural gas is used, a gas detector can also be added.
How often should a fire alarm system be maintained?
Maintenance and test intervals are set by regulations, the relevant standards and the manufacturer's instructions. Regular testing checks that the detectors, manual call points, sounders and the panel's backup batteries are working. We can also take on the maintenance and testing of your existing system.
How is a fire alarm system planned for a school?
In schools, classrooms, corridors, stairwells, laboratories and the boiler room are each considered separately. It is important that sounders and strobes can be heard and seen from everywhere, and that manual call points are on the escape routes. Having the alarm work together with the PA system makes evacuation calmer.
Which is better: a wireless or a wired burglar alarm?
Wired systems are preferred in new buildings or during renovation, when running cables is easy, and they do not need battery changes. Wireless systems can be installed in a home or business that is already in use without breaking walls; the sensor batteries need to be changed at regular intervals. Mixed solutions that use both types are also possible.
Will I get a notification on my phone when the alarm goes off?
Yes. With a GSM or internet module added to the panel, you can get a notification, a message or a call on your phone when the alarm goes off. You can arm and disarm the alarm remotely through the app. If you wish, the system can also be connected to an alarm monitoring center; you will need to discuss the terms of that service with the monitoring center separately.
If there is a cat or dog at home, will the motion sensor keep going off?
Pet-immune motion sensors are designed not to detect animals under a certain weight. The height and angle of the sensor must also be set correctly. If we talk about your pet’s size and the areas it moves around in, we can choose the right sensor together.
Does the alarm keep working when the power goes out?
Alarm panels have a backup battery that kicks in during a power cut. How long the battery lasts depends on the panel, the number of connected devices and the battery’s condition. Keep in mind that batteries weaken over time, and have them checked at regular intervals.
Can a burglar alarm work together with a camera system?
Yes. When the alarm is triggered, you can immediately check the relevant camera on your phone and see whether it is a real break-in or a false alarm. Planning the two systems together makes both installation and daily use easier.
Why is the internet weak in some rooms at home or in the office?
The most common causes are thick walls, a reinforced concrete structure, a modem in the wrong place, or a single wireless device trying to cover the whole area. The solution is usually to run cables to the right points and install enough access points. It would not be right to say anything definite without seeing your space; tell us what you need and let’s work it out together.
Should Cat6 cable or fiber be used?
For connections inside a building, Cat6 copper cable suits most needs; however, the distance a copper cable can cover in one run is limited to about 100 meters. For longer distances, between buildings or on backbone lines that need high speed, fiber is preferred. In large areas such as campuses and factories, both are used together.
What is the difference between enterprise Wi-Fi and a regular modem?
Home modems are designed for a small number of devices. In an enterprise wireless network, multiple access points are managed centrally, users stay connected without drops as they move around the building, and the guest network can be kept separate from the staff network. In busy places such as schools and offices, the difference is felt right away.
Is it possible to separate student and staff internet on a school network?
Yes. With VLANs and separate wireless network names, student, staff, guest and camera networks can be separated from each other. This improves security, and heavy traffic on one network affects the others less. Access rules can also be set with a firewall.
Do you tidy up messy cabinets and cables?
Yes. We organize the inside of the cabinet, gather the cables with patch panels and cable managers, and label each line at both ends. That way, when there is a fault, you do not have to search for which cable goes where.
Is solar power efficient in Şanlıurfa?
Şanlıurfa is one of our provinces with high sunshine all year round, which is a good start for solar power. Still, output depends on the roof’s direction, tilt, shade and how clean the panels are. Panels lose some efficiency in the summer heat, and dust also lowers output, so correct placement and regular cleaning matter.
Do you need a permit for a grid-connected solar system?
Yes. For grid-connected systems, you need to apply to your electricity distribution company and get the required approvals. The process follows the Regulation on Unlicensed Electricity Generation in the Electricity Market and related rules. We explain the information and steps needed for the application and stay with you during the preparation.
Can solar power be used for agricultural irrigation?
Yes. In solar irrigation systems, the panels run a submersible or surface pump directly through a pump drive. Since the pump runs while the sun is out, a battery is often not needed; water can be stored in a tank or pool and used later. A proper design requires the well depth, flow rate and pump details.
What is the difference between an on-grid system and a battery (off-grid) system?
An on-grid system uses the electricity it produces and draws from the grid when needed; it does not require batteries. In an off-grid system there is no grid, or it is not wanted, and the energy produced is stored in batteries. For vineyard houses, land far from the grid or places with frequent outages, off-grid or hybrid solutions can be considered.
How much maintenance do solar panels need?
Since panels have no moving parts, they need little maintenance. The main issue is cleaning: in Şanlıurfa, dust builds up on the panels and lowers output. The connections, the inverter and the monitoring data also need to be checked at regular intervals.
Is my roof suitable for solar panels?
The roof’s direction, pitch, load capacity, any structures casting shade and the usable area are assessed together. Some roofs may need an extra mounting structure. It would not be right to say anything definite without seeing your roof; let’s inspect it on site and decide together.
Can a smart home system be installed in an existing home?
Yes. In homes that are already lived in, a smart home can be set up with wireless switches, sockets, curtain motors and thermostats, without breaking any walls. In new buildings or during renovation, planning wired infrastructure gives a more robust solution. We will work out together which one suits your home.
What can I control with a smart home system?
You can manage lighting, curtains and shutters, air conditioning and the boiler, sockets, the alarm and cameras from a single app. With scenes such as “Leaving home”, you can turn off the lights and arm the alarm with one tap. We start by talking about what you want to control.
Does a smart home keep working if the internet goes down?
That depends on the system used. With systems that run on the local network, lights and scenes keep working from inside the home; only remote access from outside is lost until the internet is back. With devices that rely fully on the cloud, some features may not work, so it is important to talk about this before installation.
Does a smart building reduce energy consumption?
Switching off lights and climate control in unused rooms, schedules and temperature settings help you use energy more wisely. How much difference it makes depends on how your home or building is used, so it would not be right to give a figure.
Does a smart home system work together with security cameras and alarms?
Yes. When suitable devices are chosen, the alarm, cameras, door lock and lighting can be managed from the same app. For example, you can set up scenes such as the lights turning on when the alarm is triggered. We check compatibility before installation.
Is an automatic barrier or a gate better for a housing estate entrance?
If vehicle traffic is heavy and the entrance is wide, an automatic barrier gives fast passage. In estates that want the perimeter fully closed, a sliding or swing gate is preferred. Some estates use both; the best way to decide is to see your entrance.
How does license plate recognition work?
A camera at the entrance reads the vehicle’s plate and compares it with the plates registered in the system. For registered vehicles the barrier opens automatically; for other vehicles the security guard is notified. Entry and exit logs are also kept; since these logs count as personal data, access to them should be kept limited.
How does an automatic gate or barrier open during a power cut?
Most motors have a release mechanism for opening by hand during an outage. Some models can also keep running automatically for a while on battery backup. During installation, we show your manager and staff how to open it by hand.
Which brand of barriers and gate motors do you use?
For barrier and gate automation we work with Nice products. We choose based on the gate’s weight, width and the number of daily passes.
Do you maintain and repair existing barriers?
Yes. We look at faults in existing barriers and gates and check the motor, control board and sensors. Regular maintenance reduces faults, especially at busy entrances. Tell us your system’s brand and the problem you have, and we will guide you.
How does a school bell system work?
School bell systems are programmed to the lesson timetable, and the bell, music or announcement plays automatically at the set times. From the same system, announcements can be made from the principal's office to the whole school or only to certain zones. Different schedules can be set up, for example for weekdays and exam days.
How do you stop sound from echoing in a mosque?
In mosques, the dome and the large interior space cause echo. When the type, number, direction and height of the speakers are chosen correctly, sound reaches the congregation evenly and the echo is reduced. That is why each mosque needs to be planned around its own structure.
What is a voice evacuation system for?
A voice evacuation system is used to give everyone in the building calm, clear instructions during a fire or a similar emergency. Working together with the fire alarm system, it helps the evacuation go more smoothly. It is especially important in schools, hospitals and large facilities.
Which sound system brands do you use?
For sound and PA systems, we work with Westa and Topp Pro products. We choose based on the size of the space, how it will be used and the sound it needs.
What kind of sound system does a conference hall need?
The size of the hall, the seating layout and how it is used are what matter: speech-focused meetings and music events call for different solutions. With wireless microphones, a mixer, an amplifier and well-placed speakers, clear sound reaches every row. We look at your hall and decide on the right system together.
What is a staff time and attendance system (PDKS)?
PDKS is a system that records employees’ entry and exit times with a card, PIN, fingerprint or face recognition. The records are transferred to software, so reports on lateness, overtime and absence are easy to get. This removes the need for hand-kept sign-in sheets.
What should be considered under KVKK when using fingerprint and face recognition?
Biometric data such as fingerprints and facial data are classed as special categories of personal data under Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data (Turkish Personal Data Protection Law) and are subject to stricter rules. We recommend checking your legal obligations with an expert before using them. Alternatives such as a card or PIN can also be offered to employees who prefer them.
What happens with lost cards in a card access system?
The lost card’s access is cancelled immediately in the software and a new card is issued in its place. That way no one can get in with the lost card. Since there is no need to change locks, it is much more practical than a key-based system.
Does the access control system work with turnstiles?
Yes. Card readers, fingerprint or face recognition terminals can be connected to turnstiles, and the turnstile opens when an authorized person scans. This is common at the entrances of factories, schools and public buildings.
Which brand of access control devices do you use?
For access control and staff attendance terminals we work with ZKSoftware products. We choose the device based on your number of users and the verification method you want. We also install the reporting software.
How does a vehicle tracking system work?
A GPS device fitted in the vehicle sends its location to a server over mobile data. You can then see the vehicle’s live location, past route and distance driven from a computer or phone. Speed and zone alerts can also be set.
Does a vehicle tracking device drain the car battery?
The devices are designed to use little power, and when installed correctly they draw very little while the vehicle is off. Still, checking the battery of vehicles that sit unused for a long time is a good habit. We install the device to suit the vehicle’s electrical system.
Can vehicle tracking be used for school buses?
Yes. For school buses, vehicle tracking helps you see where the bus is and follow its route, and monitor safe driving with speed alerts. The school management can see all buses on a single screen.
Do employees need to be informed if the vehicles they use are tracked?
Yes. Since location data can count as personal data, employees who drive the vehicle must be informed about the tracking. We recommend consulting an expert about your obligations under KVKK.
Can fuel consumption be monitored with a vehicle tracking system?
Vehicle tracking reports show distance, idling time and route information, which help you assess fuel use. Measuring fuel level directly may require an extra sensor. We will work out together which reports will be useful for your fleet.
What should a server room be like?
A good server room is cool, dry, protected from dust and accessible only to authorized people. Rack cabinets are neatly arranged, cables are labeled, and devices are connected to an uninterruptible power supply (UPS). Monitoring the temperature and the door also helps you spot problems early.
Is a home air conditioner enough for a server room?
It can be used to start with in small rooms; however, the devices in a server room produce heat day and night, and the air conditioner has to run nonstop too. In Şanlıurfa summers, the failure of a single air conditioner can put the devices at risk very quickly. That is why it is important to consider redundant cooling and a temperature alarm.
What does a UPS do, and how long does it run?
When the power goes out or the voltage fluctuates, a UPS keeps your devices powered and prevents sudden shutdowns and data loss. How long it lasts depends on the UPS's power rating, its battery capacity and the consumption of the connected devices. We work out the right UPS for your needs together.
Can you tidy up our existing messy server room?
Yes. We rework the cabinet layout, cable routing and labeling, and check the power and cooling situation. We plan the work so that it disrupts your organization's day-to-day operations as little as possible.
Does a server room need cameras and access control?
Servers and network devices are an organization's most critical equipment, so it is important to know who entered the room and when. With card access and cameras, every entry is recorded. In small organizations, even a lockable rack cabinet is an important step.
What is a central satellite system?
In a central satellite system, a single satellite dish and a terrestrial antenna are mounted on the roof of the building. The signal is delivered to each apartment separately through distribution devices called multiswitches. This way each apartment watches its own channels independently, and many dishes do not pile up on the roof.
Can each apartment watch a different channel on a central system?
Yes. In a properly installed central system, each apartment, and even each room, watches any channel it wants with its own satellite receiver, independently of the others. For this, the distribution line and the multiswitch must be planned according to the number of apartments and outlets.
Why does the picture freeze on central TV?
The most common causes are a dish that has shifted out of alignment, aging cables and connectors, a weakened signal or a fault in a distribution device. We find where the problem is by measuring the signal. It is often possible to fix the faulty point without replacing the whole system.
Do you install central TV systems for hotels and dormitories?
Yes. In multi-room buildings such as hotels, dormitories and hospitals, we install systems that distribute the same channel list to all rooms. We will work out the right solution together based on the number of rooms and the channels you want.
What does our apartment building need to switch to a central system?
First we look at the roof, the existing cabling and the number of apartments. Since switching to a central system usually concerns the common areas, it is done by decision of the building management and the unit owners. It would not be right to say anything definite without seeing your building; tell us what you need and let’s work it out together.
